We’re really happy to announce that our Advanced Certificate in hair and make-up has been selected as one of the eligible courses for BAFTA’s UK scholarship.
It’s our most comprehensive course, covering all aspects of make-up, hair and prosthetics for TV, film, theatre and fashion. Students get the chance to practice core make-up and hair techniques plus gain wig work, airbrushing and filming experience.
BAFTA’s programme supports up and coming talent in the TV and film industry through financial funding for training and courses. Recipients are awarded up to £12,000 towards their annual course fees, plus mentoring from a BAFTA member and access to BAFTA events worldwide.
The bursary will give deserving students the opportunity to become fully-trained and take the first steps in their career as a make-up and hair artist.
BAFTA will be awarding the first scholarship for The Iver Make-up Academy at the end of July and recipients will begin the course in September 2018.
Liz Tagg, Principal at The Iver Make-up Academy said:
“We’re honoured that our Advanced course is the only make-up and hair artistry training course in the country to have been chosen by BAFTA for their UK Scholarship Programme. It is testament to the fantastic teaching offered by The Iver Make-up Academy and the success of our students.
We look forward to welcoming recipients of the scholarship in September, and hope it makes training in the TV and film industry more accessible for rising talent.”
