FASHION AND BEAUTY MAKE-UP & HAIR ARTISTRY

Discover the professional techniques and skills needed to enter this exciting and fast-moving industry.  Build up your knowledge of make-up and hairstyling with our comprehensive course in fashion and beauty make-up. Learn how to work on all skin tones and hair textures, create flawless complexions, editorial and catwalk looks, the perfect Smokey eye, the perfect lip, and all aspects of makeup for media presenters. Culminating in a  2-day photo shoot with models and professional photographer creating high res images fro your portfolio.

During this course, you will learn in small groups with plenty of hands-on experience. Our Fashion and Beauty make-up tutors are extremely passionate about their industry, and you will learn from their endless knowledge and years of experience.

The team at The Iver Make-up Academy has many years’ experience working in editorial and catwalk, including international Fashion Weeks. They will introduce you to the latest products and techniques that are relevant to today’s industry.

Entry requirements:  Must be aged 18+ and pass an informal interview. You do not have to have previous experiences for this courses but a good aesthetic eye and a passion for the craft is essential.

Course Payment: A 20% deposit is required to secure a place on this make-up course with the full balance due 6 weeks prior to the course start date. We have several options to help fund your make-up course including interest free payment plans, bursaries and loans.

Please note that if you are enrolling in our Advanced or Intermediate Make-up and Hair Artistry Certificate courses, the Fashion and Beauty Make-up course is already included as a module.

• Media Make-up

  During our course, you will study health and safety practices, the correct use of products and tools, facial anatomy and the principles of shading and highlighting for a wide range of media roles, including make-up for different skin tones, and young and mature skin. You will also learn how to master professional hairstyling techniques using heated rollers, tongs, straighteners and blow dryers, and how to apply hairpieces and clip-in extensions.  Throughout this 3 week course, you will be able to view all your work on a monitor under studio lighting conditions, and you will be assessed on all skills, from application techniques to creativity.

  At the end of the 3-week short course, you will have learned the make-up and hair techniques to successfully work on media presenters in TV, film, and events. You will also have gained experience putting together finished looks under different lighting conditions.
